Description

[English below]

The novel eSMR-MeOH technology is a prospective solution for production of sustainable methanol at cost competitive prices. The novel new electrically driven steam methane reforming technology (eSMR) is compact and has a low capital investment. In a grand vision, eSMR-MeOH could be the enabling technology that will allow for producing methanol in periods where sustainable electricity is available in excess. The eSMR-MeOH technology will enable production of sustainable methanol as a platform molecule for chemicals and fuels production. In addition, eSMR alone will be a new synthesis gas production platform. In the project, the eSMR-MeOH technology is demonstrated in industrial relevant size in a 10 kg/h methanol pilot plant for upgrading an actual biogas. Also, a techno economic process integration evaluation is made. By completion of the project, the technology will have matured for immediate market integration as an original route for sustainable feasible methanol production.
