Flexibility at the Nexus of the Danish District Heating - A sociotechnical inquiry of a system in reconfiguration

Description

My project looks into dimensions of energy transitions too often neglected, both by the academic and by the professional worlds. I investigate the social dimensions of a 100% based renewable energy system, and my project hinges on the making of flexibility as a new needed characteristic for our future energy systems.
Grounded in social science of energy, I investigate how new flexibility mechanisms are currently being implemented by diverse District Heating utilities, and how these different mechanisms are reconfiguring the roles attributed to both utilities and customers.
