Future Skills For Biotechnology  (FS-Biotech)

The project seeks to enhance the quality of teaching-learning systems in Higher Education Institutions (HEI), developing innovative pedagogical methodologies and, thus, making the European graduates market more competitive in the actual context characterized by markets globalization. It's intended that HEI may become more open to collaboration and close connections with the corporate market and society. On the other hand, we intend to promote on HEI a high quality standard at technological and behavioral teaching levels.
It is expected to meet three European priorities identified for HEI:
A) To develop individuals by fostering new skills or enhancing others that already exist;
B) To develop societies, promoting a greater equality among citizens;
C) To develop economy, by making individuals more competitive and adjusted to the Biotechnology global market.

General Aims: 1) To foster the process of drawing HEI nearer to companies and to corporate market; 2) To promote self-reflection on students regarding the skills that they should develop and aiming to train more autonomous individuals with the ability to self-monitor, adjust to circumstance and achieve pre-defined goals; 3) To adapt curricula to companies' needs; 4) To foster the development of market valued skills throughout the learning process; 5) To increase competitiveness of Biotechnology teaching of European HEI on an international context; 6) To develop long life learning implementation mechanisms; 7) To decrease gender inequality on the access to technological employment; 8) To implement integrated practices among professors and tutors; 9) To foster the development of skills inherent to self-regulated teaching, that may encourage the embracing of the concept of life long learning among graduates; 10) To develop a career management model that is innovative enough in order to be able to adapt to the market's needs and to develop graduates and allow their integration in the employment system and market; 11) To develop a system that carries out a constant evaluation and consequent adaptation of strategies to internal and external needs.
