Description

In 2024, approval was granted to establish the Greenland Research Center for Learning and Education. The center aims to strengthen research and development in the field of education in Greenland. It focuses on primary schools, teacher education, continuing and further education, as well as transitions between educational levels, including early childhood education, youth education, and vocational training. Additionally, the center works on organizational learning and development, emphasizing the anchoring of competencies and learning from development projects.

Rikke Ørngreen is affiliated with the university as the research leader at the center and within the research group at the Institute of Learning, Ilisimatusarfik (University of Greenland). This includes involvement in research and development activities, participation in the PhD council, committees, PhD courses and supervision, and she provides input on the research-based development of educational program. Rikke's research on digitalization, digital tools, and various formats for online and hybrid learning is incorporated into the work
