Impact of Modularity Aspects in Product Realization (network project)

    Project Details

    Description

The objective of this project is to identify and test enablers and barriers for the widespread use of modularization in industrial enterprises. In the project a phenomenological model of modularization will be developed. The model will seek to establish relationships between product development and the other functions in an extended enterprise with respect to modularization, including for instance, the ability to incorporate product modularization in a strategic product-planning context. The consortium behind this project is the Department of Control and Engineering Design (DTU), Center for Production (The technological Institute) and Center for Industrial Production, AAU. The network project is expected to provide a springboard for a future "Center Contract" which is currently being prepared by DTU, The Technological Institute and Center for Industrial production. Project duration: 2000 to 2003. (Poul H.K. Hansen)
