Project Details

The transition processes in the former communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe have had tremendous effects e.g. on political and economic institutions and the everyday life of the ordinary people in these countries. Also the industrial production has experienced these changes. The interest of this project is the industrial environmental practices, i.e. the way the firms usually deal with environmental issues. The industrial environmental practices are studied at five case firms. The industrial environmental practices are related to studies of environmental and industrial developments in Poland over the last thirty years. The aim to investigate how the transition processes influences the industrial environmental practice if at all. The theoretical inspirations combine discourse analysis, institutional analysis, and Social Construction of Technology (SCOT). (Trine Pipi Kræmer)
