The future role of installations in the building process

Project Details

Description

Based on transition theory, this project takes a closer look at how the relationship between structures and installations may develop in the future. The purpose of this project is:
- To map long-term development trends (the landscape), which can be expected to shape the role of the installations in the future development of building.
- To uncover where and how an increased focus on installations can challenge and be challenged by the prevailing construction practice (the construction engineering regime).
- To assess which development initiatives (niches) within the installation area can contribute to new ways of constructing and operating buildings.
- To discuss different development paths (transition mechanisms) for how the construction and operation process is expected to develop in the coming years, with special focus on the relationship between structures and installations.
