Institutional Economics, Environment and Development

The project is twofold and looks into the theoretical foundations of institutional economics in a historical perspective as well as the practical and political relevance of institutional economics for environmental policies. The project has so far been dealing with the evolutionary economics of Thorstein Veblen, with evolutionary perspectives on environmental law and economics, property rights and liability, with principles for a green tax reform, with joint implementation strategies related to Central American forests and with innovation systems analysis and international trade.
