Project Details
Description
The project aims to develop a global textbook on Land Administration Systems. Part One of the book will focus on a conceptual approach to Cadastre, Land Information, Land Administration and Land Management. To develop this conceptual understanding the book looks at each area as a system/infrastructure designed for handling specific tasks and serving specific needs in society. Such systems are embedded in the historical, cultural and judicial setting of the individual jurisdiction, country or region. Part One will analyse the function and the basic elements of the systems and look at the interaction between the three areas of land tenure, land value and land use. Part Two of the book will consist of regional case studies of land administration systems from around the world written on the basis of a common framework. The project is supported by the World Bank.
