Description

Danish manufacturers are under increasing pressure to respond quickly to changing customer demands, fluctuating supplies of raw material, components, and disruptive digital technologies. They need to increase productivity and rapidly introduce customer-centered smart products, via resource-efficient manufacturing. We will develop Flexible production systems that produce customized products on Agile platforms that can rapidly scale volumes up/down, whilst applying Sustainable manufacturing principles that minimizes the environmental impact and improve competitiveness. This will be enabled by a Talented and skilled workforce (FAST). Hence, the objectives are:
a) Flexible manufacturing systems to produce high value products with small batch sizes and high variety:
- Demonstration of manufacturing systems that can accommodate the production of new and existing products with beyond state-of-the-art (SOTA) changeover-time and performance.
b) Agile manufacturing systems that rapidly scale production volumes up and down:
- Demonstration of beyond SOTA reuse of manufacturing equipment for different applications which drastically reduces ramp up/down time.
c) Sustainable manufacturing solutions that maximize competitiveness and minimize environmental impact:
- Demonstration of new business models that encompass take-back and recycling of products
- Demonstration of value chain integration via digitization, enabling real time visibility, prediction and optimization.
d) Talented and skilled workers at all levels in Danish manufacturing enabled by digital support:
- Demonstration of beyond SOTA Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Augmented/Virtual (AR/VR) methods and tools for training, education, and in-situ digital assistance, and of new educational models for improving the workforce for advanced manufacturing.
These objectives are addressed by building on the strong partnerships in the MADE ecosystem and applying agile project management to strengthen Danish Industry.
