Maritime Competence and Innovation Skagerrak and Kattegat

Project Details

Description

"The maritime sectors in Skandinavia face significant common challenges regarding environment, energy and competitiveness:

To adapt to more stringent rules from 2015-16 to reduce emissions to air and water from shipping.
To shape cutting edge competence in maritime companies in cooperation with academia.
To create structures for excellent communication to stimulate and facilitate cooperation and develop attractive innovation environments
Project partners in MARKIS see these challenges as opportunities to create green growth and new jobs in the maritime industry, through the development of maritime environmental technology. This can ensure the Kattegat/Skagerrak region a leading market position in this field". (markis.eu)
