Description
Nye SiC materialer har muliggjort nye transistorer som forventes at udkonkurrere eksisterende effekttransistorer når deres potentiale for øget virkningsgrad realiseres. Udover at erstatte dagens transistorer har de nye transistorer spændingsegenskaber som ligger ud over hvad eksisterende Si transistorer kan og her ligger projektets fokus. I dette projekt anvendes SiC transistorer med 10-15 gange højere spænding i forhold til konventionelle Si transistorer. Med de nye højspændingstransistorer er forudsætningen skabt for at påvise en simplificering af mellemspændings effektelektronik. Med platformen ønskes en forskningssucces som skaber grundlag for øget aktivitet og på sigt forventes billigere mellemspændings omformerløsninger som åbner op for at viden bliver anvendt industrielt. Anvendelsesområder Marine, Vind og Sol.
