Project Details

Description

The purpose of this project is to examine the role of the HLA-B27 genotype and human mitochondrial heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) in the development of the spondyloarthrotpathies (SpAs), to find the mechanism of how an autoimmune disease that is dominated by CD4 + T helper cells can be genetically linked to a MHC class I tissue type. In addition to uncover the mechanism of how an infection can result in the development of reactive arthritis and whether this mechanism can generally explain the development of the SpAs.
