The project is funded by Novo Nordisk Foundation and aimed in growth of piezoelectric nanowires and nanostructures by the glancing angle deposition technique. These materials will enable for energy harvesting from mechanical movements in the ambient environment and converting it into electrical energy that can drive low-power portable electronic devices. Utilizing III-N materials like AlN and GaN and sculpturing the shape of nanostructures would allow to develop the matrices to be used for efficient electricity generation. Thus, piezoelectric nanogenerators with an increased power generation density and potentials for integration into the devices they drive, obtained through the present project, can make a significant impact on self-powered nomad electronics.
