Description

One Textile Direction is a project belonging to Innovation Fund Denmark initiative on a mission-driven green research and innovation partnership within the area of Circular economy with a focus on plastics and textiles. The project is coordinated by Danish Technological Institute and involves over 15 partners. The purpose of One Textile Direction is to establish a new state-of-the-art for circular design, procurement, use and reuse of textile to the private household, public and private professional sector. The main goals are (i) to develop guidelines for circular public procurement, citizen involvement, traceability, collection, quality control and transport optimization; (ii) to establish and optimize processes for separation, recycling and recovery technologies enabling to propose the best solutions for further practical implementation, thus, making Denmark among the first runners for a circular textile industry.
Particular role of the group at the Department of Materials and Production of AAU is to contribute to the development of electrospinning technology utilizing recycled materials towards production of fibers to be used in textile industry.
