    Project Details

    Description

The project focuses on finding optimal strategies for manintenace of reinforced concrete bridges. Especially the importance of preventive maintenance is analysed. The decomposition of the bridges due to corrosion of the reinforcement is modelled stochastically. The reliability of the bridges (safety) as a function of time is evaluated by Monte-Carlo simulation. The project is performed in cooperation with Highways Agency, London, and the methods developed in the project will be tested on English bridges. The project will be finalized in 2004. (P.
