Optimized isolation and expansion of fat-derived mesenchymal stem cells for enhanced chondro-, osteo-, and neurogenesis

Description

The first milestone to be achieved by this  project is to optimize procedures for isolation of mesenchymal stem cells from fat tissue in terms of the total yield of lineage-specific progenitors. The ensuing studies will determine what conditions are best suited for the maintenance of highest numbers of the progenitor cells. Most important  parameters that will be investigated fall within the categories of growth media and growth factors, growth surfaces, and gaseous environment. The project is supported by the Danish Center for Stem Cell Research and Aalborg University. Persons involved: V. Zachar, T. Fink, P. Lund.
