This PhD project centers on leveraging Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL) to optimize microbial fermentation processes. The project involves developing sophisticated deep learning models to build accurate simulators and designing DRL algorithms for effective process control. The candidate will be responsible for data collection, preprocessing, and analysis, as well as training and validating models, and designing and optimizing DRL policies. This research serves as a bridge between AI and industrial biotechnology, promising significant contributions to both fields and enhancing scalability from laboratory settings to large-scale production.
