Interactive structural design and optimization (PhD project)

 

The aim of this project is to develop interactive structural optimization programs for continuous monitoring of the shape of the structural members. Also there is the possibility to specify subjective information that points the design in the direction wanted by the architect. Furthermore, teaching material for architectural students shall be developed based on the computer-based design programs that can lead to a better understanding of integrated architectural design. The PhD project (2005-2008) is internally financed and performed in cooperation with the University of Bath. The project is part of the research related to the Utzon Centre.
