Project Details

Description

Due to the recent growth of solar-powered stand-alone Base Stations (BS), exact and appropriate modeling of these systems is essential in order for their reliable long-term operation. Photovoltaic (PV) maximum power extracting and system uninterrupted operation, beside the battery lifetime and degradation, are some of the most important issues to be considered in modeling these systems. Additionally, the demand of solar-based BSs which is essentially network traffic, along with available PV power in the BSs’ applying sites, should be studied in probabilistic modeling. Moreover, in situations where using ground-based BSs is not economically and technically feasible, drone-based BSs are applied where the flight time and range can be extended by implementing an exact model of PV-based system in order to cover a wider geographical location and serve more customers.
