Project Details
Description
The PROMISE project aims to fundamentally shift urban mobility away from car dependency. This project aligns with the 15-minute city concept through the integration of micro-mobility solutions in the first and last mile of urban areas. PROMISE implements innovative strategies that include the development of a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based Micro-Mobility Decision Support Tool (MDST), fostering multi-stakeholder collaborations through co-creation methodologies, and establishing living labs across diverse urban settings. These living labs serve as real-world platforms for testing and refining micro-mobility interventions, ensuring they are effectively tailored to specific urban challenges and stakeholders’ needs.
Through its collaborative, research-oriented framework, PROMISE will deliver actionable insights and robust evidence to support policy-making and urban planning, contributing to the broader goals of enhancing urban mobility and achieving sustainability targets. The project’s international and interdisciplinary consortium ensures a comprehensive understanding of the micro-mobility landscape, facilitating impactful innovations in urban mobility.
The project’s approach is holistic, considering safety, regulation, and behavioral aspects to promote a behavioral shift towards micro-mobility. The solutions co-created within PROMISE are scalable, flexible and adaptable for various contexts that aim to reduce reliance on cars, decrease urban congestion, improve environmental outcomes, thereby enhancing urban livability and accessibility.
