Project Details

Description

The purpose of the present project is to implement a unique, full-scale demonstration project using special energy-efficient and load-bearing polyurethane panels for; exterior walls, roofing, floor deck and terrain deck. The project is implemented with the construction of a number of row-houses in close cooperation with a pilot customer.

The technology which will be implemented in a full scale residential housing project represents a potentially gam-changing contribution to the construction industry both foreign and domestic.
The technology is based on the conversion of Polyurethane panels currently manufactured for the cooling-and freezing house industry into a building system primarily for residential housing.
In the project it will be demonstrated how the combination of the unique thermal capabilities of polyurethane can be combined with structural properties in a construction system, which incorporates building envelope, insulation and structural frame providing a unique approach to industrialized construction.
The key properties and the production methods behind the technology are able to give the system a competitive advantage compared to substituting system and at the same time allow for competitive pricing.
The lead project applicant has many years of experience in the manufacturing of polyurethane panels and is supported by core competencies within the development of building systems from both Aalborg University and leading advisory companies from the construction industry.
A pilot customer is ready to apply the system in forthcoming full scale housing project when the product development process is completed.
