Project Details

Description

This project aims to develop and demonstrate RiFLEX Developer, a software development kit for collaborative robots, and integrate it with the existing RiFLEX Runtime generic operating system. The consolidated platform will be enhanced with 6D vision capability and other functions to address the challenges of high programming costs, difficult-to-use GUIs, and limited flexibility in hardware-software bundling that hinder the adoption of cobot technology by SME manufacturers. The project seeks to innovate the state-of-the-art cobot operating system and its implementation through novel technical approaches, ultimately breaking down barriers to the uptake of cobot technology.

Layman's description

The project focuses on creating RiFLEX Developer, a software development kit for collaborative robots (cobots), and combining it with the existing RiFLEX Runtime operating system. The goal is to make cobots easier and more affordable for small and medium-sized manufacturers to use by reducing programming costs, improving user interfaces, and increasing hardware-software flexibility. The platform will also include 6D vision capability and other enhancements to revolutionize cobot operating systems and encourage wider adoption of cobot technology.
