Description

The aim of this study was to assess the preoperative prevalence of DVT in patients with colorectal cancer with respect to gender, location of cancer and other groupings. Also the diagnostic reliability of a quantitative D-dimer assay in ruling out preoperative DVT in patients with colorectal cancer admitted for surgery, and to assess whether the preoperative plasma D-dimer level is correlated to the cumulative incidence of DVT until six months after surgery.
