Project Details

Description

The purpose of this project is to facilitate the process of creating a height model with your hands. The idea is that sand in a box is moulded with the hands and creates some structures. These structures are caught by a 3D camera from above and calculated in a computer and transformed into height curves and height information. That information is projected onto the sand in colours in real-time. You can also introduce water into the model and visualise how water will run in the structures.

Layman's description

By forming the sand with your hands, you will immediately see what happens when the landscape changes and this will start the creative and playing aspects. The beautiful visualisations in the sandbox inspire to create new structures and facilitates thoughts and ideas about landscape forms and the nature of water for new target groups
