Smart Electricity-Heat Neighborhoods via the Integration of Heat Storage Units and Solar PVT Panels in Denmark

Project Details

In this project, the concept ‘smart electricity-heat building’, in which standalone solar photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) panels combined with a heat storage tank is to supply a major portion of the building’s heat and electricity demands, is proposed and studied. By such an energy system for the buildings, not only the share of renewable energy in the national energy matrix may increase, but also the building will enjoy the cheap environmentally-friendly energy flows produced by its own. Here, the electricity grid and district heating (DH) systems are just to provide the excess demand of the buildings.
