Optimised and Uniform Safety and Reliability of Offshore Wind Turbines

Project Details

Description

In the project it is determined how the overall safety against structural failure of an offshore wind turbine depends on the structural safety and the reliability of the safety systems. Based on Bayesian decision theory, cost-benefit models including the total, expected benefits and costs throughout the lifetime for individual wind turbines and wind turbine parks are set up. Based on this, the optimal safety level for structural safety is determined. The project is funded by PSO (Public Service Obligation).
