Project Details
Description
Haptic technologies have recreated the sense of touch by mechanical or electrical means to provide immersive experiences. Applications range from video games and virtual reality to robotics and medical research. The EU-funded TACTILITY project is developing the next generation of interactive systems that will enhance users’ sense of immersion. It is conducting cutting-edge research on transcutaneous stimulation, textile-based multi-pad electrodes and electronic skin. If successful, the project will enable a high-fidelity experience through low-cost and user-friendly wearable technology.
