Project Details

Description

miRNAs have recently been found to  play a regulatory  role in the differentiation of stem cells as well as hypoxic responses. It is unknown at this point whether miRNAs are involved in the maintenance of pluripotentiality of embryonic stem cells (ESCs). We have previously shown that hypoxia suppressed the rate of spontaneous differentiation in the ESCs. We are now seeking to find a possible link between this phenomenon and miRNA expression. This project is carried out in collaboration with Aarhus University (Prof. J. Kjems ans S. P. Jonstrup). Person involved: V. Zachar.
