Project Details

Description

Design a methodological approach and a set of associated Python scripts (tools) for collecting a corpus images urls with a thematic focus on transport/smart mobility options (the corpus) via Google Image Search using different search settings and queries. Help TINNGO researchers install relevant software for running the scripts and thus produce their own corpus of image urls. The scripts will draw on open source python libraries and be made available on GitHub. Design a methodological approach and a set of associated Python scripts for automatically detecting topics (using machine learning) in the collected corpora of image URL’s using the Clarify API client. Help TINNGO researchers acquiring their own Clarify API clients and running the scripts to tag their corpora. Help TINNGO researchers visualize the output of the analysis as a network of image tags and through simpler descriptive statistics of the found tags. deliver training throughout a 1 day workshop in digital methods (the workshop), to take place on 19th November 2019, with the aim of (a) introducing the TinnGO consortium partners to digital research design and visual analysis, and (b) enabling the TInnGO partners to conduct a similar study in their corresponding countries, consultations with the TinnGO partners in two online workshops (e.g. via Skype), of 3 hours each, during the February and March 2020. Provide documentation for provided scripts that will help TinnGO partners document their collected corpora by the 1st July 2020.
