Description
Sustainable tourism has a growing interest within the tourist companies and organisations. The aim has been to create a practical toolbox for the companies to support the journey towards sustainable tourism in the counties of Viborg and North Jutland. MidtNord tourism, NIRAS, the two counties and 30 different types of tourist companies took part in the project from 2001 to 2004. Most firms implemented ‘good housekeeping' and saved resources; others implemented an environmental management system; and in the end several firms got the EU eco-label since hey fulfilled the criteria (Pernille Kernel & Arne Remmen).
