Project Details

Description

The increasing spread of the Internet leads to the fact that nowadays web based questionnaire surveys constitute a usable alternative to the traditional telephone interviews and post enquiries. The Traffic Research Group has in the years 2001 and 2002 undertaken a number of projects in which web based questionnaire surveys have been used. Experiencies from these projects prove that it is possible to undertake both inexpensive and more advanced questionnaire surveys through the Internet among these questionnaires in which respondents answer questions based on map registrations. The aim with the project activities is to test and develop internet based analysing tools for use on urban and traffic planning e.g. with special reference to an increasing participation of citizens in urban planning issues. Furthermore tools have been developed for registrations of accidents and identification of factors behind accidents. The research activities including development of graphic and geographic applications will be continued in the years ahead. (Erik Jensen, Henrik Harder Hovgesen, Harry Lahrmann, Jens Chr. Overgaard Madsen).
