A comparison of VMD and DCMD for phosphorous and ammonia recovery from wastewater

Research output: Contribution to conference without publisher/journalPosterResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Recovery of ammonia and phosphorous from municipal wastewater is important to minimize the environmental impact of their discharge and to comply with the concept of circular economy. Membrane distillation, a process driven by the partial vapor pressure across a microporous hydrophobic membrane, has demonstrated the potential for concentrating the non-volatiles while, at the same time, recovering volatiles from a solution. This project explores VMD and DCMD as ammonia and phosphor recovery options.
