Abstract

Highlights
•A maintenance decision modelling framework for risk-informed structural integrity management.
•A holistic computation of the value of information (VoI) from multiple condition inspections.
•A simplified VoI computation method based on an alignment decision strategy (ADS).
•Advantages and limitations of VoI based inspection optimization are studied, compared to a life cycle cost method.
•The proposed VoI computation methods can be applied to developing efficient inspection or monitoring programmes.
