Abstract
A general framework is established for the consequence assessment of extraordinary structures and high-rise buildings in particular. Basis for the framework is the Bayesian decision theory, newly developed approaches for structural optimization, structural reliability theory and a new approach for the modeling of utilities including follow-up consequences.
