Abstract

The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifications have supported spectrum from 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz as frequency range 2 (FR2) for the 5th generation mobile networks (5G), which brings some revolutionary change to antenna systems in mobile handsets. In this paper, the design challenges of mobile antennas in FR2 are discussed, and the state of art research works is also reviewed.
