Abstract
This thesis was accepted by the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Medicine at Aalborg University for public defence in fulfilment of the requirements for the doctoral degree in Natural Sciences. The defence took place on March 13, 2009 and the doctoral degree was conferred in May 2009.
