Abstract

Nano-modification of epoxy resin is an important means to improve the insulating strength of composite materials. In this paper, barium titanate (BTO) nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and fluorinated by plasma. The fluorinated fillers were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The two kinds of nanofibers before and after fluorination were doped in epoxy composites. Then the effects of fluorination modification and filler mass fraction on flashover voltage and charge dissipation rate were studied experimentally. The results show that the plasma fluorinated filler can effectively improve the flashover voltage of the epoxy composites at low mass fraction. The flashover voltage of the composites at 2% mass fraction is 23.58% higher than that of the pure epoxy resin. At the same time, the rate of charge dissipation after fluorination is higher than that before fluorination. Finally, according to the trap distribution of epoxy composites, it is considered that BTO doping and fluorination can improve the shallow trap density, and the fluorine- containing groups can inhibit the secondary electron emission, so as to effectively improve the flashover voltage of epoxy composites.
