    Abstract

    This study aims to identify the actual needs of decision makers for decision support in the production control activity, considering the role and cognitive skills of
    human decision-makers in the decision-making process. Multiple case studies have been conducted in order to gain practical insights from the manufacturing industry. This paper contributes to raise the issues that should be considered for successful implementation of the decision support systems in practice.
