Abstract
The debate on IT tends to assume that information automatically has a value assigned to it. This is in general questioned as the ownership and context of information is setting the stage. The contemporary focus on the Internet and the access to information overstates the importance of information and undervalues the role of a general unrest comming from the globalization debate.
