Abstract

hydrogen production is integrated into the DC link of the HP-OWT to adjust the grid-injected power. The fluctuating wind power may influence the power conversion efficiency of the electrolysis system. This paper studies the electrolysis power conversion efficiency in HP-OWT for grid-injected power smoothing service. The power conversion efficiency model considering converter and electrolysis is first established. Furthermore, the impact of wind fluctuations on efficiency is analyzed. The analysis results show that the amplitude and frequency of the wind fluctuation can affect the conversion efficiency of the electrolysis system. The power conversion efficiency decreases with the increase of power fluctuation. The analysis results can be applied for efficiency optimization and control of HP-OWT.
