Abstract
The authors use the methods of quaternionic Kahler geometry to show that the half-conformally-flat metrics of LeBrun (1990), which are based on monopoles on hyperbolic 3-space, are conformal to Einstein metrics if and only if the monopole is spherically symmetric.
