Abstract

Hydrogen sulphide, known as sour gas, is a very toxic und pungent gas that causes problems in up and down stream processes during production of oil and gas. One of the most commenly used methods for removal of H2S is the use of triazine based scavengers. However, these often leads to precipitation of sulphur compounds that causes fouling of process euipment and reduces production flow. To assess the possibility of using the commercial product Grotan OX as a substitute for the traditional scavengers, a collaborative project between Aalborg University Esbjerg and Schülke & Mayr GmbH has been performed.
