Abstract

Norway is introducing an accreditation arrangement for cadastral work. Such authorization already exists in Denmark, where it was introduced to ensure that surveyors was educated and experienced. The question is whether authorization in itself is sufficient to ensure quality and uniformity? This is examined with a focus on determination of property boundaries, which is the practical part of the cadastral work. It is investigated whether if Denmark has a sufficient basis to ensure a uniform execution of determination of property boundaries in practice. It’s concluded that a large part of the handling of the registered boundary and the determination of conformity is based on the individual’s work experience. Based on this, it’s recommended to further examine how the work process is in practice to create a better basis for creating a uniform practice for boundary determination.
