Abstract

This book aims to offer an essential and practical overview of music therapy assessment so that music therapists, music therapy students, service users, and students and professionals in other fields can have access to basic knowledge on this topic. The book is based on the four stages of the assessment process: 1) preparation, 2) data gathering, 3) analysis, interpretation, and conclusions, and 4) documentation and communication of assessment results. The book introduces music therapy assessment, starting from its foundations, and brings complementary subjects that offer relevant perspectives related to music therapy assessment, focusing on the four stages of the assessment process. Given that this publication is an overview of the music therapy assessment topic worldwide, it does not bring in-depth discussions about the context or situation of a specific country.
