Abstract

Designing is a process, which requires designers with high levels of knowledge, skills, and competences with respect to design modelling and knowledge management. Much focus has thus been extended towards collaboration and development of well-defined models, without, however, evaluating the current level of development of design models or knowledge, skills, and competences of designers. This study, therefore, presents an investigation of design models from a learning event for students of architecture, engineering, and construction, evaluating the current level of development of design models and a discussion of how to improve learning events in engineering education.
