Abstract
In high frequency power conversion applications, the power driver losses can become relevant and consequently the converter efficiency be reduced. In the last years, several gate driver topologies have been proposed able to reduce these losses. In this paper a high frequency, high efficiency resonant MOSFET gate driver is extended to high frequency operation, constructed and characterised. The experimental results show an energy reduction up to 78%, and suggest the possibility to increase the switching frequency until 2.6MHz. A detailed experimental characterisation and some theoretical considerations are reported.
