Abstract

Measurements of boiling temperatures are reported for binary mixtures of
Triethylene Glycol (TEG) and Water at pressures of 50, 100, 200 and 400 mmHg.
The experimental data have been obtained using a vapour recirculating type
(modified Othmer’s) equilibrium still. At high TEG concentration the mixtures show
negative deviation from ideality. The experimental data obtained in this study have
been correlated by employing the NRTL model, with temperature dependent
parameters, to express activities in the liquid phase. The proposed model has also
been employed to predict the temperature dependence of water infinite dilution
activity coefficient.
