Abstract

The objective of this panel symposium is to explore opportunities for connecting individual and organizational global mindset from both a research and practice perspective. The link between individual and organizational global mindset is hinted at in the global mindset literature, but remains underexplored, although there is widespread agreement that global mindset has strategic implications and impacts organizational level outcomes such as business performance. This symposium responds to calls for further efforts addressing the connection between individual and organizational global mindset by interactively exploring this nexus from six different perspectives with a view to carving out paths for future research and next practice: Business strategy, governance, organizational design, the role of boards, leadership brand-building and human resource development. Introductory vignettes from a panel comprizing three researchers and three MNC- practitioners frame a facilitated discussion between panelists as well as between panelists and participants.
