Abstract
Over the past decade, social debate about creativity in relation to cities, businesses and society as a whole has intensified. Its strength can be seen in the fact that the United Nations (2008) identified the vital importance of creativity in a better future for the global society. Furthermore, the European Union decided that 2009 should be the year of “creativity and innovation.” Clearly the winds of creativity have gained momentum, and we explore their origins and direction to provide a basis for the study of the development of the workplace and the potential for FM.
